Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee is tasked with preparing a list of nominations for positions to be filled during the Annual Conference, either due to resignations or term expirations. The committee also reviews board and committee memberships according to the annual conference’s standing rules. The board is composed of an equal number of ministerial and lay (non-ordained) leaders, as with all Free Methodist Church leadership.

Board Report
As we approach our Annual Conference, it is with great pleasure that we share the diligent work and achievements of the Nominating Committee over the past year. Under the capable leadership of Liz Cornell, this committee has been instrumental in identifying and presenting a diverse and qualified group of individuals to serve on our conference’s boards and committees.
Connecting with Potential Nominees
One of the hallmarks of the Nominating Committee’s work this year has been their proactive approach to reaching out and connecting with potential nominees. They have invested significant time and effort in engaging with members of our community, seeking to identify those who possess the gifts, skills, and heart to serve our conference in various leadership capacities.
We want to take this opportunity to encourage you, our FMCSC community, to be responsive when you receive communication from the Nominating Committee. Your timely response helps streamline the nomination process and ensures that our conference benefits from the wealth of talent and expertise within our community. Your participation is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
Balanced Representation
A key priority for the Nominating Committee has been to ensure balanced representation across our boards and committees. They have worked diligently to present a slate of nominees that reflects the diversity of our conference, considering factors such as gender, age, ethnicity, and ministry experience. By fostering inclusive leadership teams, we strengthen our ability to make decisions that reflect the needs and perspectives of our entire community.
Looking Ahead
As we look forward to this year’s Annual Conference, we are excited to see how the newly nominated individuals will contribute to the mission and vision of our conference. We have full confidence that the Nominating Committee’s work will result in a strong and capable group of leaders who will guide us forward with wisdom, compassion, and a deep commitment to the Gospel.
