Board Report

The Ministerial Appointments Committee (MAC) has been diligently working throughout the year to support our conference’s pastoral needs and ensure the health and vitality of our local churches. As we reflect on the past year and look forward to the future, we want to share some key updates and prayer requests with you.

Open Appointments and Proactive Approach One of our primary focuses this year has been on open appointments, seeking to fill pastoral vacancies with the right leaders who can shepherd our congregations with wisdom, compassion, and vision. As we move into the coming years, the MAC is committed to taking a more proactive approach to these appointments. By anticipating potential transitions and actively seeking out qualified candidates, we aim to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth leadership transitions for our churches.

Leadership Transition at Lamb’s Fellowship It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that we share the news of Mike Chong Perkinson’s installation as the Superintendent of the Pacific Coast Japanese Conference (PCJC). While we celebrate this new chapter in Mike’s ministry and the opportunity for him to serve the broader Free Methodist Church, we also deeply feel the loss of his leadership at Lamb’s Fellowship.

Mike’s contributions to Lamb’s Fellowship and our conference as a whole have been immeasurable. His passion for the Gospel, his commitment to discipleship, and his heart for the lost have left an indelible mark on our community. We are grateful for the years of faithful service he has given and the lives he has touched.

As we navigate this transition, the MAC is actively discerning the next appointment for Lamb’s Fellowship. We covet your fervent prayers during this process, asking that the Holy Spirit would guide and direct us to the right leader who can build upon the strong foundation Mike has established and lead Lamb’s Fellowship into a new season of growth and impact.

Prayer Requests In addition to your prayers for Lamb’s Fellowship and the appointment process, we also ask that you join us in praying for:

  • Wisdom and discernment for the MAC as we seek to make Spirit-led decisions
  • Unity and peace for our pastoral families during times of transition
  • Open hearts and minds within our congregations as they welcome new leaders
  • Continued health and vitality for our local churches as they advance the Kingdom
  • Strength and endurance for our pastors as they navigate the challenges of ministry

We are grateful for your partnership in prayer and your unwavering support of our conference’s mission to make disciples and transform communities.

Looking Ahead As we press on into the future, the MAC remains committed to serving our conference with integrity, transparency, and a steadfast dedication to the Gospel. We are excited to see how God will continue to work through our pastors and churches to bring hope, healing, and transformation to Southern California and beyond.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers, support, and partnership in this sacred work.
